Tschüss 3G

Vor rund 20 Jahren hat die dritte Mobilfunk-Generation 3G das mobile Internetzeitalter eingeläutet. Die damals wegweisende Mobilfunkgeneration ist mittlerweile 20 Jahre alt und erfüllt die heutigen Kundenbedürfnisse nicht mehr effizient. Swisscom schaltet ihr 3G-Netz seit Ende 2025 schrittweise ab und wird dieses am 7. April 2026 endgültig deaktivieren.

So long, 3G

Around 20 years ago, the third mobile generation, 3G, heralded the start of the mobile Internet age. What was once a ground-breaking mobile generation is now 20 years old and no longer efficiently meets the needs of today’s customers. Swisscom has been phasing out its 3G network since the end of 2025 with the final shutdown scheduled for 7 April 2026.
